How to fix Moisture detected problem on the Galaxy S8 – The Android Soul

Arguably one of the biggest design changes that Samsung made in so many years, was with the Galaxy S8 and their decision of removing the iconic home button. However, Samsung did keep the important features, like the IP68 water and dust resistant rating which keeps the flagship devices running smooth and flawless up to 5 feet for 30 minutes under water.

Users have reported that even after some brief contact with water or moisture, the Galaxy S8 is showing up a notification that doesn’t seem to go away. This notification has to do with the fact that the sensors in the USB Type-C port of the Galaxy S8 pick up the smallest amount of moisture to protect your device before the next time you charge it.

“Check port: Moisture has been detected in your charger/USB port. Make sure it is completely dry before charging your device. Drying the port may take some time.”

However, some users have reported that the error simply doesn’t seem to go away, even when the device is thoroughly dried inside out. The good thing is that there’s a quick and easy way to get rid of this annoying little issue.

  • Plug in your Galaxy S8 into the USB cable charger, at which point you will be notified with the “Moisture has been detected in your charger/USB port”
  • Without removing your USB Type-C charging cable from the port, reboot your Galaxy S8 by pressing down the Power and Volume Down
  • Let the Galaxy S8 screen boot up by itself and show you the charging screen with details on how long until it will be fully charged.
  • Now you can go ahead and press down the Power button to turn on the device and confirm that the moisture issue on your Galaxy S8 has been fixed.

Did this little quick nugget help you get rid of the annoying Galaxy S8 moisture error for good? We’re waiting to hear from you in the comments section below!
